In class we tried a new thing none of us had seen or done before and that was Foley. The class as one big group all worked on one video from a cartoon show. It was a mute video and our job was to find a sound for every action or movement in it with objects.

The final video:

The first step we did was to watch the video while its mute and try to brainstorm objects we can make sounds with that are similar to how they sound in reaI life. Then next, we tested out the objects around the classroom and if we wouldn't like what we came up then we can find objects at home to bring back to class the next day. Once we were done choosing the sounds, there were two tablets to record them. One by one, we would record the objects everyone had of their own. Some of them were door handles, pencil sharpener, desks, and water bottles. My role was doing the sounds for the pull levers on the machines with the levers on the computer cart in our classroom. Afterwards all the videos were done and then it was time to edit them all into one final clip. We were split into 3 groups to edit. We would edit the sound volume for the non - diegetic sound, diegetic sounds, sound effects, and the sound motif for each character. It took a while for us to get it done because there were some errors with the videos not sending or losing some of them and then for us to agree on what we would like for the clips. Finally we were done with it and it was time to present it and then look at the original afterwards. In my opinion I loved the results. It was so much better than the original because we did more sounds than it actually had and the sounds that they did have, ours sounded more realistic. The only thing I didn't like was the back round music at the end when the scientist is going down the stair with its pet bird. I feel like a scary, dark song just like the one before it would've been better to keep the mood going. Overall, it came out better than I expected.
