Today in class we were presenting our photos for our first photoshoot. We were to choose the first genre we wanted to shoot out of the two choices we had from the four magazine genres. To start off the genre I chose was "Food & Beverage". I took pictures of meals from different restaurants as my main objects of the shoot.
To start off with for this I was in an Asian buffet. To get a good lighting and to not have shadows, I did a high angle. I did a high angle as well to capture the whole platter of oranges. The feedback I got back from the students and teacher is to do different perspectives of the art. Moving forward I will try different perspectives showing the details and the creative ways you can see the art even if it's food.
Again, in this I was at the buffet. While I was in the sushi section I wanted to capture the colors of the different choices there are. I had to rush to take this because I was in a line and there were people waiting behind me. even with the rush I was still able to capture the different platters. The feedback I got from my class was that they liked how I did portrait on the background of the other meals yet still presenting all the colors and lighting on them. To move on with this information I will continue to show more color.
This is another Asian restaurant that I have gotten a sushi plate in. For this I did high angle to get the good lighting. Plus, I had brought a real flower with me to accessorize it with. By me brining the flower it made the color of the sushi pop out more, making it look more appealing and pretty. A mistake I did was not focusing on the background which I the feedback that I got back from the class. They liked how I captured the flower and the sushi together but then the background gets in the way. It went from looking clean to messy. To move forward I will clean it up or make it organized or do portrait.
